Hospital goes green with JCM support

On the afternoon of October 2nd, 2015, in Hanoi, Viet Duc Hospital, Mitsubishi Corporation and Ho Chi Minh City Energy Conservation Center had a ceremony for the acceptance of project equipments to Viet Duc Hospital which became the first hospital in Hanoi to join the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM). This project is supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) through the Department of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Promotion of green hospital JCM project to replace 526 old air conditioners with ones equipped with inverter technology at Hanoi-based Viet Duc Hospital and HCM City-based 115 People Hospital as part of a green-hospital model in Viet Nam. This replacement will help the hospital save 830 kWh, or VND 1.23 billion (US$55,000) in savings. The new equipment would also help cut 518 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.

This project is conducted from 2014 to 2016 under the JCM between Vietnam - Japan. Along with the methodology of the project was approved by the Joint Committee on January 14th 2015, after the time for collecting public comments, the project will soon be submitted to the Joint Committee for consideration to become officially JCM registered project in Vietnam.
